In today's culture, everyone and their dog write a blog. I think people feel they have something to contribute, something important to say or share and they want to express those thoughts or experiences with whoever cares to read them. I get that!! I'm not any different.
Last year I embarked on the wonderful journey of watching and caring for my two beautiful granddaughters while their parents work full time jobs. During this past year, so much growth has taken place in these little ones. We've had so many special loving moments, teachable moments and challenging moments. From day one, I have wanted to write these memories down and document them, but I was afraid. Yes, afraid. What if people think I am stupid? What if people don't like what I write? And the really BIG one, what if no one reads my blog? After a year of vacillating about whether to start my blog or not, I decided to follow my heart and write even through timidity. If no one reads this - it's okay, because the important issue is to write down these precious memories for my grand babies to read sometime in their future.
So what will I write about? Well - I will share our preschool lessons and activities, pictures of special outings and events we go to and just about anything funny, loving or just crazy that comes out of their mouths. I will share my heart and frustrations with caring for two toddlers at my age of 56. I will also share my faith, so be warned, if you don't like to hear about God you probably won't like my blog.
I'm so looking forward to see how 2013 unfolds and how much these little ones grow. Someday when they are grown women with babies of their own, I want them to read this blog and know how much their Nana loved them, cared for them and took the time to document these "special" times and memories for them. I love you Stella and Lyla!
I love your Blog! What a Wonderful Grandma you are! Ashlee and Jason are having our first Grandson in June ! We're so excited-- then Brittney and John are working on starting a family too --so I'll be joining you on the Grandma Journey soon! Miss you friend !
